Frequently Asked Questions

The FARs-160SN-RC255 features a Ø160 mm rotary table and is designed for both vertical and horizontal applications. It uses an add-on installation mode, making it suitable for integration with CNC machining centers for 4th- and 5th-axis machining.

The rotary axis provides 360° rotation, while the tilting axis offers a wide -110° to +110° range. This allows the workpiece to be positioned at multiple angles for multi-axis machining operations.

Both the rotary and tilting axes use a Worm & Worm Gear transmission mechanism. The rotary axis has a 1:60 reduction ratio, while the tilting axis also uses a 1:60 reduction ratio, providing controlled and precise axis movement.

The FARs-160SN-RC255 has a minimum programmable increment of 0.001°. The rotary axis provides 40 arc-seconds indexing precision with 6 arc-seconds repeatability, while the tilting axis provides 60 arc-seconds indexing precision with 8 arc-seconds repeatability.

The rotary axis uses a pneumatic clamping system rated at 0.6 MPa / 6 kg/cm², while the tilting axis uses hydraulic clamping rated at 3.5 MPa / 35 kg/cm². The rotary-axis clamping torque is 128 kgf·m / 13 kgf·m, and the tilt-axis clamping torque is 687 kgf·m / 70 kgf·m.

The FARs-160SN-RC255 can be configured with major CNC servo motor systems including FANUC, Mitsubishi, Yaskawa, Siemens, Heidenhain, and Syntec. TJR specifically lists FANUC αiS4 / βis4 and Mitsubishi HG-56 for the rotary axis, while the tilting axis is listed with FANUC αiS12 / βis12 and Mitsubishi HG-154.

The rotary axis has a maximum table speed of 33.3 rpm, while the tilting axis has a maximum structural speed of 50 rpm. TJR notes that the actual operating speed can vary depending on the selected motor.

The FARs-160SN-RC255 supports a maximum workpiece load of 25 kg in the 0° horizontal position and 20 kg when tilted from 0° to 90°. Its allowable horizontal inertia load capacity is 0.1 kg·m².

The rotary table has an allowable thrust load of 5,886 N / 600 kgf with rotary-table clamping. Its specified axial moment is 245 N·m / 25 kgf·m, radial moment is 128 N·m / 13 kgf·m, and driving torque is 36 N·m / 3.7 kgf·m. TJR also notes that if a mechanical brake is not used, the axial value corresponds to the motor's holding torque.

The FARs-160SN-RC255 features a Ø35H7 mandrel sleeve, Ø25 mm center through hole, and 230 mm horizontal table height. It uses a 12H7 T-slot and 18h7 guide block. The unit has a net weight of 126 kg excluding the servo motor.
