Frequently Asked Questions
The FAD-400HS-AD500i-420 features a Ø400 mm rotary table and is designed for vertical and horizontal applications. It uses an integrated installation mode, making it suitable for CNC machining centers requiring high-speed 4th- and 5th-axis machining capabilities.
The rotary axis provides 360° rotation, while the tilting axis offers a -110° to +110° range. This allows workpieces to be positioned at multiple angles for complex multi-axis machining operations.
Both the rotary and tilting axes use Direct Drive transmission. This configuration drives each axis directly without conventional mechanical reduction gearing. The reduction ratio for both axes is specified as Direct Drive.
The FAD-400HS-AD500i-420 provides a minimum programmable increment of 0.001°. The rotary axis has 20 arc-seconds indexing precision and 4 arc-seconds repeatability, while the tilting axis provides 25 arc-seconds indexing precision and 4 arc-seconds repeatability.
Both the rotary and tilting axes use pneumatic clamping rated at 0.6 MPa / 6 kg/cm². The rotary-axis clamping torque is 85 kgf·m, while the tilting-axis clamping torque is 200 kgf·m, providing secure positioning during machining.
The FAD-400HS-AD500i-420 can be configured with major CNC servo motor systems including FANUC, Mitsubishi, Yaskawa, Siemens, Heidenhain, and Syntec. TJR specifically lists Direct Drive (DD) Motor configurations for both the rotary and tilting axes with FANUC and Mitsubishi systems.
The rotary axis has a rated speed of 596 rpm and a maximum speed of 1,200 rpm. The tilting axis has a rated speed of 50 rpm and a maximum speed of 50 rpm. These specifications make the table suitable for high-speed rotary machining and precise multi-axis positioning.
The FAD-400HS-AD500i-420 supports a maximum workpiece load of 200 kg in the 0° horizontal position and 100 kg when tilted from 0° to 90°, with the loads specified as balanced loads. Its allowable horizontal inertia load capacity is 6.25 kg·m².
The rotary axis provides 402 Nm rated cutting torque, while TJR does not specify a maximum rotary cutting torque on the published page. The tilting axis provides 1,217 Nm rated cutting torque and 2,120 Nm maximum cutting torque. The allowable thrust load is 15,000 N / 1,529.5 kgf, with an axial moment of 2,000 N·m / 203.9 kgf·m and radial moment of 850 N·m / 86.6 kgf·m.
The FAD-400HS-AD500i-420 features a Ø25H7 × 12 mm deep table hole and a 14H7 T-slot. Both the rotary and tilting axes use water cooling, supporting stable operation during high-speed machining.
