Frequently Asked Questions

The FHD-650-iD650 features a large Ø650 mm rotary table and is designed for vertical and horizontal applications. It uses an integrated installation mode, making it suitable for heavy-duty 4th- and 5th-axis CNC machining.

The rotary axis provides 360° rotation, while the tilting axis offers a wide -110° to +110° range. This enables flexible multi-angle positioning for complex machining operations.

Both the rotary and tilting axes use Direct Drive transmission. This direct-drive configuration eliminates conventional mechanical reduction gearing and provides responsive axis movement. TJR specifies Direct Drive as the reduction ratio for both axes.

The FHD-650-iD650 has a minimum programmable increment of 0.001°. The rotary axis provides 20 arc-seconds indexing precision and 4 arc-seconds repeatability, while the tilting axis provides 30 arc-seconds indexing precision and 4 arc-seconds repeatability. TJR also states that higher-grade angle encoders are available as an upgrade to further enhance positioning accuracy.

Both the rotary and tilting axes use hydraulic clamping rated at 3.5 MPa / 35 kg/cm². The rotary-axis clamping torque is 370 kgf·m, while the tilting-axis clamping torque is 500 kgf·m, providing strong holding force during heavy machining.

The FHD-650-iD650 can be configured with major CNC servo motor systems including FANUC, Mitsubishi, Yaskawa, Siemens, Heidenhain, and Syntec. TJR specifically lists Direct Drive (DD) Motor configurations for both the rotary and tilting axes with FANUC and Mitsubishi systems.

The rotary axis has a rated speed of 80 rpm and a maximum speed of 210 rpm. The tilting axis has a rated speed of 50 rpm and a maximum speed of 50 rpm. Both axes use oil cooling for stable operation.

The FHD-650-iD650 supports a maximum workpiece load of 500 kg in the 0° horizontal position and 300 kg when tilted from 0° to 90°. Its allowable horizontal inertia load capacity is 26.4 kg·m², making it suitable for large and heavy workpieces.

The rotary axis provides 554 Nm rated cutting torque and 741 Nm maximum cutting torque. The tilting axis provides 1,890 Nm rated cutting torque and 2,478 Nm maximum cutting torque. The allowable thrust load is 25,000 N / 2,549.2 kgf, with an axial moment of 5,000 N·m / 509.8 kgf·m and radial moment of 3,700 N·m / 377.2 kgf·m.

The FHD-650-iD650 features an 18H7 table T-slot. Both the rotary and tilting axes use oil cooling, which supports thermal stability during demanding machining operations. The unit has a net weight of 1,173 kg including the Direct Drive motors.
